Produced by Ryan Murphy, Glee aired its 100th episode on March 19 as the most popular musical series of all time. It would be a mistake to see Glee, which staged nearly 600 performances from a wide repertoire ranging from Katy Perry hits to Broadway musicals, as just a TV series.
Glee has become a huge phenomenon with their annual albums, concert tours around the world, their standing alongside oppressed bands, and their own competition, The Glee Project.
In any case, if it were just a TV series, such a terrible script could not be expected to be so popular. Love combinations that the many people are familiar in traditional TV series in which friendship relations that are constantly going back and forth, and many other nonsense are present in Glee’s scenarios. Despite this, it is undeniable that they have achieved tremendous work in the musical sense of 100 episodes.
That’s why we thought it would be good to list Glee’s 26 most special performances. Of course, when we first made a list, this number was over fifty, we have been able to simplify it up to this point.
Here are the best Glee performances we’ve chosen for you:
Don’t Stop Believin’
It’s the first piece that comes to mind when it comes to Glee. At the end of the first episode, which had really bad songs, it hoped to be a very solid cover. That hope has already reached its conclusion, with Glee shooting 99 more episodes on top of that song. Glee’s Don’t Stop Believin’ song was later used as a single by Lea Michelle, but nothing replaces the first one.
Dream On
It can be said that it was the song that had many people watch the series. Even the fact that Neil Patrick Harris was just a guest actor for the first season of the series was enough to attract attention. However, that interest would be one-episode. Using him in such a duet with Matthew Morrison made the newcomer permanent.
The Safety Dance
In the episode where Neil Patrick Harris was a guest star, he wasn’t the only performance that garnered attention. Safety Dance was very popular with its crowd choreography and shopping center concept to be used later in the series. However, what really made the performance special was that Artie, whom we saw in a wheelchair since the beginning of the series, stood up and performed a truly amazing dance, even if it was just a dream.
Bad Romance
One of the names glee often pays its respects to is Lady Gaga. In fact, Ryan Murphy is constantly trying to build a community that ‘coexists despite the differences.’ I chose this from the gifts of the Glee team to Lady Gaga, who today surpassed the definition of ‘different’ and went to a level in her own right since the costumes and dancing are exactly Gaga’s homage.
Journey Medley
Don’t Stop Believin’ contributed greatly to the first season of the series. The use of the same mine was inevitable, and Glee did so in the 1st season finale. Faithfully, Anyway You Want It and Don’t Stop Believin’ again created a spectacular journey marathon, and Glee closed its first season with a perfect episode.
Toxic
Britney Spears, like many famous names, was involved in an episode of the series at her own request. Glee made that part a Birtney special, and we got a lot of good performances from each other. It wouldn’t be to not put one of them on this list. The inclusion of Will Hodja in the performance and the comedy of the script featured this piece.
Hey, Soul Sister
Although he later moved to New Directions, Blaine Anderson rooted for our boys in Season 2 races with Warblers. Although Blaine has already moved to the kids’ school, New Direction vs. Warblers continued their rivalry for two post-season seasons. It wasn’t a list without putting a piece of them in. The best of them should be this naive piece.
Valerie
Unlike in the first season, New Directions seemed to have escaped Rachel Berry’s monarchy in season two, with more characters coming to the fore. Even the miracle happened in the first competition of the season, and Rachel only danced in the back, which is proof of the change. Santana Lopez, who is the main element of the performance, became one of the characters that took weight after this episode, and the number of his performances increased considerably. Ryan Murphy absolutely does not regret this.
Sing
Glee wouldn’t have skipped Justin Bieber, who has many fans in common while doing special work for all these songs. They did an episode full of his songs. So what does it have to do with that? After corroding our ears with Bieber, they captured the hearts of viewers other than Beliebers by staging this performance at the end of the episode. This could really be the secret to making performance so great. Ryan Muprhy also used the song in a beautiful work of The Glee Project, which is worth seeing.
Loser Like Me
Unlike classical musical works, Glee always streamed covers in its first season. While the second season seemed to go like this, they started to put original songs in between with a sudden spark. In other seasons, we can say that the reason Loser Like Me, which occasionally decays original songs, is the most popular example, is because its lyrics and stage performance contain the entire story of Glee.
You Can’t Stop The Beat
While the beginning of the 3rd season was quite still, the last performance energized everyone. The whole season was like that anyway. With its events, stories, and songs, Glee’s third season has been the most vibrant and popular season, and the performance of You Can’t Stop The Beat played a big role in it.
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
Glee was featured as a Rachel Berry story for 3 seasons, with Kurt Hummel shining in between. However, with the 4th season, Finn Hudson showed that he is the main man of the series. After season 4, Finn was the only name in New Direction vol.2, who was in some way connected with all of the characters divided into three, the Oldies and the New York crew. This is his best single performance in the series. May Cory Monteith rest in peace.
Man In The Mirror
Glee always paid tribute to Michael Jackson. Every performance on the Thriller show in season 2 and the MJ special episode in season 3 was amazing, but this is none of them. Perhaps the simplest MJ works are the most successful. However, I also recommend you listen to all of Glee’s other MJ works.
I Just Can’t Stop Loving You
The big and shaky main love story the series tells gave Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson the opportunity to perform many duets. It can be said that this is the most successful of them. Of course, choosing it after selecting a work from Michael Jackson may seem like breaking the base. However, we can list this endless Rachel & Finn duets on the list, shush, keep it low!
Cough Syrup
It is possible to count this as the pinnacle of Blaine Anderson, who joined the series in Season 2 and unexpectedly became one of the series’ main characters. The revenge scene described during both the performance and the song was really impressive. It has already been voted “Best Solo” in a vote from Glee’s website.
My Love Is Your Love
Glee streamed a special episode for Whitney Houston shortly after her death, and the song was the closing piece of that episode. The legendary made it onto this list as the perfect work for an excellent episode in memory of the artist.
I Won’t Give Up
As we said, since the show was always shown as a Rachel Berry story, then this list wouldn’t have been possible without her solo. This song came to the fore with its story as the most successful among dozens of solos from a wide archive from Broadway classics to Katty Perry’s most popular works.
Nationals 2012
The national competition in the 3rd season can be shown as the most successful competition episode of the series. The 3-song performance complements each other so well that it would not be separate. With Edge Of Glory, It’s All Coming Back To Me Now, and Paradise By The Dashboard Light, New Directions were also finally getting to the top.
Glory Days
Bruce Springsteen’s brilliant song really set out for Glee’s third season finale. It was really good to say goodbye to the original New Directions cast, with the triumph song of Finn Hudson and his buddy Noah Puckerman who eventually made it through.
New York State Of Mind
After peaking in his 3rd season and disbanding the squad, there were few who hoped that New Direction’s performances would go well. But Marley Rose from the first episode joined the squad and signed on for most of the performances that took him all season. Already seen as “The New Rachel Berry,” she proved it with this song.
Don’t Speak
A tremendous performance from the 2 most prominent pairs of the series. In fact, Don’t Speak was expected to be used since the first season of the series. It is an undeniable fact that he was saved for the best situation and thus succeeded.
The Scientist
Do 4 couples come into a separation state regardless of age or sexual preference in the same section? If we’re talking about Glee, yes they do. And finally, a great piece like The Scientist will appear.
Greased Ligtnin
Glee has always known to respect musicals as well as artists. Grease was one of them, but it was only possible for them to present a full Grease episode in Season 4. Of course, none of the pieces here is even close to authenticity, but we can’t deny that they were successful. And if you need to choose a song from Glease, the men’s performance will eat it all up.
Some Nights
We can see it as a 2nd Generation New Directions reunion song that includes Marley, Jake, Ryder or something like that. He also finds himself on the list as the first successful work of new teacher Finn Hudson.
All You Need Is Love
In addition to being an excellent band, The Beatles have dozens of songs that can be easily covered. It wasn’t hard to predict that one day Glee would say something of The Beatles, either. But we didn’t expect them to do 2 Beatles-themed episodes in a row. Or for one of them to be such a study. That’s what came to the fore with glee’s story from The Beatles’ piece.
Seasons Of Love
As the most special episode when Glee ends, it will probably be remembered as the Cory Monteith special episode. The Finn Hudson character he played was the only person who had a close relationship with every character in the series. As a matter of fact, it was inevitable that all the members of New Directions would merge in this song. It’s the most special song of Glee’s most painful episode.
