Mayor of Kingstown is a new promising American crime thriller featuring Jeremy Renner. Renner fans are excited to see him in a different role. This new TV show is about a power broker family called McLusky in a town called Kingstown. In Kingstown, the family is fighting against racism, corruption and inequality. The Mayor of Kingstown is released on Paramount+ online streaming platform on 14 November 2021. The first season has only 5 episodes. In addition to Jeremy Renner, the cast includes Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Emma Laird, Hamish Allan-Headley, Aidan Gillen and many more.
1. Kingstown Is Not a Real Place
Everybody is wondering whether Kingstown in the Mayor of Kingstown Tv series is a real place. The answer to “is Kingstown in Mayor of Kingstown real” is no. The town in the TV series is not real. It is an imaginary place. But when we look at the US, we can see similar places to this town. Although the town is not real, there are really similar towns to this one.
2. Kingston Is a Prison Town
In the TV show, Kingstown is a prison town. We can say that the whole purpose of this town is to be a prison for the criminals. There are 7 prisons in Kingstown. 7 prisons have 20.000 people and all of that happens in 10 miles of radius. When you have this much prisons and criminals in the same place, there will be drama, more crime and exciting events. So, we can expect a lot of excitement from this show. Although only 5 episodes are released so far, the Mayor of Kingstown plot seems promising. The characters will probably evolve and unfold in the following season. Still, there are no news about Mayor of Kingstown season 2.
3. The Entire McLusky Family Fights Against Crime
Jeremy Renner’s character in this TV show is called Mike McLusky. He has two other brothers – one brother is older than him and one brother is younger than him. The older brother Mitch is called the mayor. This is nickname given to him as he is not the official mayor of the town. Rather, Mitch has good connections with the criminals across the town. Similarly, Mike’s younger brother Kyle is a police officer. The mother Miriam is a talking about global problems such as slavery and Civil War. We can easily say that the entire family is in the crime fighting business.
4. Not Too Much of a Great Start
Since the TV series is released, there are mixed comments about it. Mayor of Kingstown did not get all the positive reviews it was looking for. But it might be a bit too early to make a final comment. We only saw 5 episodes. And most of the time, 5 episodes is not enough to make a precise comment about a TV show. The critics said the Mayor of Kingstown series as average or mediocre. But both Jeremy Runner fans and other viewers are excited about this new series.
