Debbie Harry is an American singer, songwriter, and actress, best known as the lead vocalist of the new wave band Blondie. She was born on July 1, 1945.
Blondie emerged from New York’s punk scene in the mid-1970s. The band enjoyed a string of hits that crossed over to the pop, rock, disco, and even early rap charts. Some of Blondie’s most popular songs include “Heart of Glass,” “Call Me,” “Rapture,” and “One Way or Another.” Blondie’s music was characterized by Harry’s cool, aloof vocals, catchy melodies, and fusion of different musical styles.
