“A WONDERFUL CITY, FASCINATING”

Dave Evans, who visited Atatürk’s house in Şişli, said, “This is my first time in Turkey. Istanbul was not what I expected. I really didn’t expect it like this. It’s a great city, fascinating. “MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATURK, A GREAT LEADER”

“Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is a great leader. I know what happened in Gallipoli in the First World War, he was in charge of the army. He is a really great leader. This was a surprise for me too. I didn’t expect to come here. I follow history closely, it’s exciting to be here and it’s also a great honor. I’m doing a world tour, I just came from Norway, I’m going to continue from here to Greece, I’m going to have a big, really good show there. Turkish people really know who I am, I will have shows next year as well. It will be a tour of Turkey actually. If you come across me towards the end of the year, I will be performing in Turkey. For now, I am just visiting your country. I am taking a look at your beautiful country before my show next year. Of course, I would be happy if you buy the tickets from this year.”

“WHETHER IT’S A CHRISTIAN CATHEDRAL OR A MUSLIM MOSQUE, IT’S INSPIRING FOR ME”

Dave Evans, who continued his Istanbul tour in Sultanahmet Square, said about the Hagia Sophia Mosque and the Blue Mosque, “It’s literally amazing, the architecture is beautiful and fantastic. At the same time the history and the mosques themselves are important things that people look at and they look at history from that perspective. They are always inspiring for me, whether it’s a Christian cathedral or a Muslim mosque. They mean a lot to people. They are spiritual things. When I travel around the world I like to see as much as I can, these mosques are everywhere. They are absolutely incredible, the architecture is inspiring.”

“ISTANBUL IS AN INCREDIBLE CITY”

Evans also said, “When I came to Istanbul I had no guarantee what I would see. It’s a modern city, a fantastic modern city. I believe it’s a place that everyone should visit. I’ve been to all the great fantastic historical places in the world. It’s hard for me to explain. Istanbul is an incredible city and it was a big surprise for me.”
