New details about Fallout season 2 are starting to emerge. Prime Video’s popular video game adaptation is set to take the adventure to New Vegas.
Fallout Season 2 is set to introduce viewers to the city of New Vegas. Bethesda Softworks’ world-famous game series, adapted into a TV series by Prime Video, is counting the days to expand its fiction universe.
Fallout premiered on April 10, 2024 and was written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider) and Graham Wagner (Portlandia). The 8-episode season is one of Prime Video’s most acclaimed projects in recent months.
The series, which received the season 2 approval quickly, has raised the expectations of many viewers due to both positive reviews and high scores. The series, which has an average score of 8.6/10 on IMDb, has a 93% critic score and 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Wagner, one of the creators of the series, which tells the story of survivors in the post-apocalyptic era, had previously hinted that more was on the way, saying in a statement that they were only able to “scratch part of the surface” with the first season.
Now it’s becoming clear that Fallout season 2 will take the adventure to New Vegas, the iconic city of the game series.
New details about Fallout Season 2 are emerging
With Fallout season 2, Lucy and Ghoul are expected to step into New Vegas. This location preference also opens up space for many characters from the games to be included in the series.
Although the series does not follow the same storyline as the games, it is set in the same universe. Therefore, it is quite likely that the games and the series will share many common characters. In the game series, New Vegas is both the gateway between the Eastern and Western United States, and has a special place because it was relatively unscathed during the Great War.
While it is reported that most of the new season may take place in New Vegas, Fallout: New Vegas, which was released in 2010, is among the potential names that could appear in the series.
On the other hand, since players have the opportunity to design the Courier 6 character themselves in the game, it is entirely up to the producers what the character’s possible appearance in the series might look like.
New Vegas in the TV series will not be the same as in the games
Co-creators Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet told GQ that their New Vegas will be a little different.
Fallout 4 takes place in the year 2287, while Fallout: New Vegas takes place in 2281, exactly 15 years before the events of the series.
Wagner noted the following about the change:
“There shouldn’t be an expectation that we have to continue the series in season two by following one of the myriad of canonical endings that depend on the choices you make while playing New Vegas.
“With the after credits scene we wanted to imply: Guys, the world has moved on and the idea that the wasteland will remain as it is from decade to decade is absurd to us. This is a place where there are constant tragedies, events, horrors. There is constant trauma and turbulent situations. We certainly imply that more is happening.”
