SEPTEMBER 8, 1993 – Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love appeared on stage together at a show in Hollywood, California’s Club Lingerie. The performance was for a benefit show, Rock Against Rape, with the two rocking Nirvana’s “In Utero” song “Pennyroyal Tea,” with Love singing leads. The second cover was of Leadbelly’s “Where Did You Sleep Last Night?” The performance came just two months before Nirvana’s famed “MTV Unplugged” set.“Watch closely. This is the first and last time you’ll see this happen,” Love said to the audience regarding the two performing together. Sadly, she was right. Even though they were husband and wife for a time, they didn’t performance together except for this lone occasion, and Cobain passed away at the age of 27 on April 5, 1994.
