Well, I’m hangin’ on to a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And I won’t let go, and I can’t let go, won’t let go
And I can’t let go, won’t let go and I can’t let go no more
For me He was chastised, for me He was hated
For me He was rejected by a world that He created
Nations are angry, cursed are some
People are expecting a false peace to come
Well, I’m hangin’ on to a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And I won’t let go and I can’t let go, won’t let go
And I can’t let go, won’t let go and I can’t let go no more
It’s the ways of the flesh to war against the spirit
Twenty-four hours a day you can feel it and you can hear it
Using all the devices under the sun
And He never give up ’til the battle’s lost or won
Well, I’m hangin’ on to a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And I won’t let go and I can’t let go, won’t let go
And I can’t let go, won’t let go and I can’t let go no more
Review
Solid Rock is a song by Bob Dylan which appears on his album Saved. The track opens up in a very rock driven fashion with a generic guitar riff accompanied by a simple guitar rhythm.
Dylan quickly comes in with the vocals in a pretty energetic delivery so I’ll give him that for at least being into the song and seeming to give a good amount of energy to it.
I’ll even say that the rhythm of this song is pretty catchy to be honest and the use of background singers really makes the instrumentation sound very full so it’s a pretty nice sound to be honest.
