I don’t know if you’re watching Brooklyn Nine Nine I’ll refer to it as BNN in the rest of the article). If you are not watching, I think you should definitely give it a chance. I reviewed this series, which brings a new breath to the American sitcom school for you. You will already understand that the article is beauty because I praised it so much. You will also enjoy watching videos while reading. Let’s get started. (no spoilers)
1- Choosing the Right Time

In fact, many of the American sitcoms have similar durations. Of course, there are a few other examples. BNN was subject to the general public. It is streamed exactly as required. Neither more nor less. You will experience how right my words will be if you have the chance to watch them. If it had been chosen for a different time, I’m sure it wouldn’t have captured the perception of concentrated comedy as it is now. We would watch many unnecessary scenes, and maybe we would be deprived of the many scenes we should watch.
2- Slow Rising Tempo
There is a big difference between the first and currently airing episodes of the pace of the series. The first episodes proceeded much more calmly due to the need for publicity and the rush to attract the audience. But now (not knowing what will happen later) it has reached its own nirvana. It’s definitely a great comedy.
3- Finally, Quality Dialogues
Sitcoms are common in American series, but the dialogue often takes the lead. Of course, the stereotype is inevitable. Writers hide the jokes that they see as the main strokes among the shallow and simpler jokes, thus preparing the audience and getting the laughter, but BNNdoesn’t do that. I don’t know what kind of screenwriting team there is, yet almost every episode ends with 0 clichés. They even take what’s known as clichés and recreate them.
4- Characters Liked Without Recognition

You more or less guess a series that just started. Regardless of genre, the main stories are avoided. First of all, the places, characters, and the relationship between them are explained. You determine your attitude to the series and the characters according to these stories. BNN does not have such a problem. They say, “Let’s tell the story; you get the incident somehow.” In this way, you adopt both the series and the characters from the first minute.
5- Balance Between Characters

Of course, there is a leading role in the series. Yet, if the value of the other roles is x, the lead role is at most one and a half x. The difference is really small. Instead of praising a character, they process each character individually and properly. They try to break the motto that a character is loved in a series. Sometimes, even if the lead role is prominent, they mostly succeed.
6- Our New Comedy Juvenile, Andy Samberg
Maybe some of you remember this man. He became famous for the sketches he shot with his friends, which opened the doors to Saturday Night Live. There is almost no celebrity there for not making videos. However, he jumped from there and entered the world of TV series, which became a jumping board for him. What a beautiful, natural, anti-cliché actress he is. I think it will meet the pure comedy actor need of the industry, which has been going on since the 2000s. In his first nomination, he grabbed the Golden Globe and ran away. Let’s watch him with his amazing performance at the Emmy Awards. Your fan Jake Parelta.
7- You Are As Funny As You Are Beautiful Melissa Fumero
The beauty of this woman sometimes suppresses her funniness. I don’t know if it seems to me with the sympathy that comedy creates, but she has an incredible taste. Sometimes I miss dialogue while watching this woman. But of course, she is very funny, and there is electricity between them and the main boy. Let’s watch her in a video dedicated to her, even if she’s not in there.
8- An Exquisite “Loser” Comedy, Hitchcock and Scully
Loser comedy is something we are used to. It is based on sitcoms. So, this is a different loser story than we know. Normally, the person used in such stories loses and is aware that they are losing. But these guys don’t have such a problem. They are very satisfied with the life they live and the situation they are in. Supported by this dialogue comedy, a legendary duo emerges.
9- A Strange Woman, Chelsea Peretti
Gina is the strangest character in the show. Sometimes she becomes the guardian of the group, and sometimes she burns the whole team for a very simple event. The only non-cop character in the series, but she sees herself as the president of America. Whatever happens is funny, funny, funny. Here, let’s watch it in the video above.
10- Dear Mr. Our Bean is Joe Lo Truglio
I guess I am not the only one to resemble this guy to Mr. Bean. This comes to my mind every time I see it. The man was officially born to do comedy; it’s in his genes. Number 2 in the series after Jake Peralta (attention, reference given to the series). It openly adds naturalness to the series. It doesn’t have to be a nuisance to be funny. Watch this naturalness for a little while.
11- Grumpy and Sweet Woman, Stephaine Beatriz
We can take this sister into the Penelope Cruz class. She’s such a Latin beauty. The drama is tough and authoritative. She has strong and proper acting. Being the toughest of the team in a cast with Terry Crews is not for every father. The chemistry between her and Detective Boyle is amazing. Of course, what she does best is to be funny.
12- Terry Needs Nutrients
If you see Terry Crews out for the first time and know that he is an actor, the last thing you can think of is that he is doing comedy. Can a person use physics so creatively? Perhaps one of the softest and sweetest characters in the series. It is incredibly enjoyable. It acts like a poem. And you do not deny anything it does.
13- Oh Captain, My Captain
Captain Holt completes the father character role in the series. It’s good to see Andre Brougher in such a job. The man is a callous, solid, tough, disciplined living character. This character is only one of the episodic side roles of forced sitcoms, but he also got his fair share of creativity in the rest of the series. Sometimes this rigidity becomes his biggest weapon of comedy. Let’s watch it for the last time.
