The character that most of us know from Marvel’s Daredevil is created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett. The character first appeared in Daredevil #1 (April 1964). Daredevil was born in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City as Matt Murdock, the son of Battlin Jack Murdock. Because his mother left them when Matt was a little boy, his father told him that his mother is dead. Later on, Jack had to work with a local criminal Fixer (Roscoe Sweeny) for money. Throughout his life, Jack tried to keep Matt away from the world of violence. Back in the days, Matt promised Jack that he will work very hard and never use his fists. Young Murdock tried to keep his promise as long as he could but he was always targeted by bullies.

Matt’s life changed forever when he saw an uncontrolled truck accelerating towards an old blind man crossing the street. While Matt was trying to save the man from the truck carrying radioactive substances, the containers fell off from the truck and the radioactive liquid inside poured into his eyes. This incident left little Matt blind but his remaining senses changed significantly. Soon afterward, while Matt was trying to understand his new senses, he met with an excellent fighter Stick who is a master in blind martial arts.
Back then, while Matt was still a young boy, he came to a boxing match where his father would fight. As agreed before the match, Fixer told Jack to lose the match. Because Jack was unwilling to lose in front of his son, he wins the game, and later on that night, a group of Fixer’s men kills Jack in a narrow alley.
Matt becomes devastated due to his father’s death and continues his life in the orphanage of the church. The pastor of the church Father Lanton was helping Matt. Young Matt was also taking religious courses besides his education and therefore continued to stay in the church until college.
Daredevil (Matt), starts to investigate his father’s death after he started college. He learns that Fixer didn’t get any punishment for his actions. In order to take his father’s revenge, he graduates from Harvard School of Law but later on, he decides to take care of it himself. He makes a costume that hides his real identity and starts to use the nickname Daredevil that was given by the bullies in his childhood. Matt catches Fixer’s men and at last, comes after him. Fixer frightens a lot and dies out of a heart attack.
After these our character Matt Murdock understands his real-life purpose. He opens a law firm with his friend Foggy but he continues to keep his identity as Daredevil for the ones whom the justice cannot reach.
Daredevil’s Enemies

Matt’s allies were very loyal to him. His best friend, lawyer Franklin “Foggy” Nelson had known him since college and he established Nelson & Murdock law firm with him. They worked together for many years before he found out that Murdock is Daredevil.
Daredevil and Elektra

Matt’s life was full of problems and resentments; at college, Matt meets with Elektra Natchios. They fall in love but their love doesn’t last long. Elektra’s Greek Ambassador father is killed by terrorists after he was taken, hostage. Elektra can’t bear his father’s death and leaves the country. After a long time, she returns and starts working with Daredevil. Resurrected after her death, Elektra becomes a terrifying assassin and an ally occasionally.
Matt’s other love, his old secretary Karen Page, also holds an important place in his heart. In order to protect Matt from Bullseye’s attack, she jumps in front of a deadly attack and loses her life.
Daredevil also fights with Spider Man (Peter Parker), Luke Cage, Iron Fist (Danny Rand), special detective Jessica Jones, Black Panther (T’Challa), Captain America (Steve Rogers), and deaf adventurer Echo (Maya Lopez) against criminals. Mostly he works alone but under Luke Cage leadership, he also joins the Defenders team.
Daredevil’s Powers and Abilities

Super Senses: Daredevil’s superhero abilities are based on his supernatural senses. His touch, smell, taste, and hearing abilities are elevated to high levels and this provides him much more than his vision can. He can watch someone or something in the crowd within 50 meters. He can hear someone’s heartbeat from 20 meters and hear people whisper from the other side of a soundproof wall. He can also tell if someone is lying based on the changes of their heartbeats, but he can be deceived by someone who uses a heart battery or someone who can control their heartbeats. He can also recognize people from their heartbeats.
Martial Arts: Daredevil who received training from some of the most outstanding martial artists is a master in martial arts. Also, he has incredible power, reflexes, agility, and endurance.
Super Intelligence: In addition to his physical abilities, Matt Murdock has a brilliant mind. Often he works with his friend and colleague Foggy Nelson and is known as one of the most brilliant and talented lawyers in the country.
Daredevil’s Weaknesses
In addition to his strength in his other senses, his major weakness is his vulnerability against strong voices and smells that can temporarily weaken his radar sense. This weakness is used mainly to immobilize Daredevil.
Daredevil’s Power Level
Though it may seem that Daredevil can lift more weight, he can lift up to 450 pounds. In addition to his excessive human strength, Daredevil has superhuman speed and reflexes due to his years of training and his mastership in senses.
Cobra Kai: The 80’s Karate Passion Continues At Full Speed
Cobra Kai is a continuation of 80’s popular The Karate Kid saga. It is inspired by the first movie The Karate Kid which was shot in 1984. The series has two other films in 1986 and 1989, starring Ralph Macchio. Also, there is a fourth film which has Hilary Swank in the leading role in 1994 named The Next Karate Kid and another spin-off movie which has Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith in the leading roles in 2010. But our series doesn’t have any connection with them except for the first one.
Cobra Kai‘s script was written by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, Robert Mark Kamen, and Hayden Schlossberg. Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg trio are together in the director and the producer seat. Apart from these three, Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Jason Belleville, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett, and Will Smith are in the producer team.
The beginning of our story dates back to 1984. The path of the two, who have fought for the same girl in high school, who fought against each other in the All-Valley Karate Tournament, and who hate each other, crosses again after 34 years and the past slowly starts to come to light.
We can say that the villain of the movie is Johnny Lawrence and he is the main character of our show. We start to see the story from his point of view and get to know him closely. Johnny Lawrence is a man around his 50’s whose life didn’t go well, is full of past regrets and drinking and he has his boundaries with other people. When he is living his empty life he sees his neighbor, a young high school kid who was beaten badly by the high school bullies. In the beginning, he doesn’t really care about the fight but when the heat of the fight comes to his beloved car than him, he can’t keep his cool and starts beating the bullies with his karate skills which were getting rusty. Our bullied high school kid, Miguel, admires Johnny’s karate skills and starts to want to learn how to defend himself in these kinds of situations.
Even though it wasn’t an easy task, he manages to convince Johnny to be his mentor and the legend of karate hall Cobra Kai starts again.
After the opening of Cobra Kai, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso start to see each other more often and mutual stubbornness becomes much entertaining when the young ones are involved.
