by Ken Regan,who is an American photographer and founder of Camera 5. Over the past fifty years he has gained recognition as a photographer of some of the biggest names and events in sports, politics, and Rock and Roll and has been featured in magazines such as Vanity Fair, People, Rolling Stone, and GQ. In the 1970s, Ken founded Camera 5, his own photo agency which represented 15 photographers. He has covered riots and demonstrations in the United States, wars in Vietnam and later in the Persian Gulf and Bosnia. He’s traveled extensively throughout Africa, photographing the famine in Ethiopia. Ken has also toured with some of the most renowned musicians in Rock-‘n-Roll history. In 1975, he did back to back tours with Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones. Others include The Band’s Last Waltz, George Harrison’s benefit show for Bangladesh, Live Aid in 1985 and photographing Duran Duran in Paris whilst the band were in the city filming the video for the James Bond movie theme “A View To A Kill”. By the late 1980s, Ken had over 200 magazine covers to his credit, as well as numerous awards from the Missouri School of Journalism and World Press Photo to the New York Newspaper Guild. In the past decade, Ken has worked for the film industry shooting stills and special projects, working with Jonathan Demme on Married to the Mob, The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, Beloved, The Truth About Charlie and others.
