The first trailer for Out of Darkness, a horror movie set in the Stone Age, has been shared. Set 45,000 years ago, Out of Darkness is set to take audiences back in time and immerse them in the suspense of a chilling era.
The horror thriller, written by Ruth Greenberg, is directed by Andrew Cumming, known for his work on television series such as Payback, Cold Feet and River City. Out of Darkness is both the screenwriter’s and Cumming’s feature film directorial debut. The production features a cast including Safia Oakley-Green, Kit Young, Chuku Modu, Iola Evans, Arno Lüning and Luna Mwezi.
The first trailer for Out of Darkness offers a first glimpse of how the production will unfold. The movie is not only characterized by its horror elements. It also aims to provide a different take on the wild and unsettling world of the Stone Age.
Out of Darkness tells the story of six people who land on the barren shores of an unknown land in search of a new refuge. As the group’s survival instincts kick in, they race against the clock to find shelter in the unfamiliar terrain before night falls. But their refuge reveals a chilling truth and they realize they are not alone.
The footage showcases the image of a mutilated woolly mammoth, an ominous sign of the dangers lurking in this ancient age to reveal the hostile nature of the new land. The trailer hints at just some of the threats that await the characters, including the possibility of encountering a cannibalistic group of humans.
The production, which first premiered at the London Film Festival on October 6, 2022, then debuted at several different festivals. Scheduled for February 9, 2024, it is not yet known whether Out of Darkness will come to the big screen in our country.
