In Greek mythology, the gods are divided into 3 groups according to their reign over the world.

The predecessors who created the universe,
The Titans who dethroned the early gods and
The gods of Olympus, who took the dominion from the Titans.

The First Gods Who Created the Universe (Theogonia, Hesiod)


Khaos: Khaos means emptiness in Greek and refers to the formless void before the universe was formed.

Chaos precedes the cosmos, the universe, or order.

Gaia: Earth goddess. Gaia or Gaea is mother earth and is derived from the other gods Gaia and Erebus.

Gaia is the mother of all gods along with the Titans.

Tartaros: Tartaros, one of the first beings to form in the universe, is both a god and an underground place according to Hesiod.

Tartaros, the deepest layer of the underground, is hell in Greek mythology.

Eros: Khaos came to the universe as the fourth after Gaia and Tartaros. Eros, the symbol of the everlasting creative act of reproduction; It is the representative of love, sex and lust.

Erebus: God of darkness. Like Gaia, Erebus was created by Chaos.

Pontus: Pontus, symbolizing the seas, is the son of Gaia.

Uranus: God of the sky. He is the son of Gaia.

They are the children of Kronos and Rhea.

Hera: Goddess of marriage, women and fertility. Queen of Olympus.

Poseidon: God of the sea and earthquakes.

Demeter: Goddess of fertility, nature, agriculture and seasons.

Hestia: Goddess of order and family. He is the first child of Kronos and Rhea.

Hades: God of the underworld.
