The series made its final in the episode of Season 8 of Homeland, which aired on Showtime on April 26, titled “Prisoners of War”, but left a big question mark. Carrie’s message about the S-400 at the end of the series aroused great curiosity.
The final episode of the series is about Carrie Mathieson (played by Claire Danes) deciding whether to kill Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) to take the name of the Russian agent and prevent the US-Pakistan war. However, in the last scene of the series, the “back door” claim about the S-400 missile defense system confused people.
Watching Homeland’s series finale, fans were faced with the fact that Carrie might be willing to kill her mentor for a greater good. However, in the end, the series had another breaking point as Carrie tricked Saul’s sister Dorit (Jacqueline Antaramian) to take the agent’s name. According to the plan, Carrie had to put together two liquids that would knock Saul out, and then signal for a death squad.
After Saul refused to name the agent, he rubbed the poison on his neck, but did not kill him, and Saul was tied to a chair. Carrie then went to Dorit in Israel and said that her brother had a stroke. Dorit later handed over a USB drive that Saul had left to give Carrie on his death.
This driver had the agent’s name on it, and there was an ironic moment when Saul told Carrie in a video, “Finally, the only thing we trust in this life is n is important.” Carrie passed the name on to Russian agent Yevgeny (Costa Ronin).
Later flight records emerged showing that the US president’s helicopter crashed due to technical problems, and the global catastrophe was averted. But things ended badly for the Russian agent who killed himself after learning the name of the Russians.
CARRIE FLIGHT TO RUSSIA AND FOLLOW THE S-400
For its final scenes, the TV series Homeland jumped two years later. Carrie was shown in Moscow, in a relationship with Yevgeny and on her way to the Kamasi Washington concert. While he’s fond of jazz in Russia, Saul receives a secret message in the spine of a book, just as he communicated with a Russian agent.
This time, however, the book was “Tyranny memories” with which Carrie shared her secrets and Carrie, who worked as a Russian agent. His message to Saul (going under the code name Professor Rabinow) says:
Greetings from Moscow, Professor. Sold to Iran and Turkey had a back door of the Russian S400 missile defense system. Can be disposed of. More information will come. Keep watching us.
However, since this episode is the last episode of Homeland, it will not be the 13th episode of the series. In other words, Carrie’s claim about the S-400 will not continue.
