Taylor Swift’s New Achievement to Make Women Proud

Taylor Swift

Swift became the first female artist to reach 100 million monthly Spotify listeners.

Taylor Swift has become the first female artist in history to reach 100 million monthly listeners. The music streaming platform announced the news via Spotify’s social pages, writing: “Queen manners. On August 29, Taylor Swift became the first female artist in Spotify history to reach 100 million monthly listeners.”

The Weeknd holds the title of artist with the most monthly listeners on the app with over 110 million. He broke the Spotify record in February with over 100 million. Bad Bunny is in 3rd place with 80 million, followed by Ed Sheeran with 77 million.

The news comes after Swift released her re-recorded third album “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” this July. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 716,000 album-equivalent units. “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” also gave Swift the distinction of being the first woman to have four albums simultaneously enter the top 10 of Billboard’s album chart, becoming only the third artist in history to do so.

During the final leg of her US Eras tour at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, Swift announced that her “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” project will begin this fall. The announcement came as little surprise to fans, as the artist left a series of clues behind and confirmed the October 27 release date of the re-recorded album.

“Here we are now on the last night and ninth day of the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour in the eighth month of the year,” Swift told fans. “Watch out, there are some new outfits in the show,” she said, hinting at the many subtle hints she dropped.

“There’s something I’ve been planning for a really, really, really, really, ridiculously and embarrassingly long time. And I think instead of telling you about it, I’m going to show you something I’m excited to show you,” Swift said as the cover of her new album 1989 appeared on the big screen in the background.

Swift’s Eras Tour will continue its international schedule until the fall of 2024. The megastar recently announced the addition of 15 more North American dates.
