January , 22 1976 – Bob Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue commence rehearsals for the second Hurricane Carter Benefit concert at Instrumental Rentals Studio, Los Angeles, California.
The Second Hurricane Carter Benefit took place on 25th January at the Astrodome Houston, Texas. Despite adding big names such as Stevie Wonder, Ringo Starr and Dr. John to the line-up for the show, it failed to make any real profit.
Post the show Dylan spent time rehearsing and then went back on the road for the second leg of the Rolling Thunder revue but with larger venues the tour failed to capture the spirt of the first leg, Tim Riley wrote “Although the band has been playing together longer, the charm has gone out of their exchanges,”
