Cameron Jibril Thomaz(Wiz Khalifa) was born on September 8, 1987, in Minot, North Dakota. His family was in US military service. Due to the nature of his parents’ business, he had to constantly move in his early childhood. He lived in Germany, England, and Japan and eventually settled in Pittsburgh. His parents divorced when he was just 3 years old.

He attended Taylor Allerdice High School in Pittsburgh. He became interested in music at a very young age and began writing his own songs when he was just 9 years old.
He began to compose and sing his own lyrics. This caught the attention of the local audience and gained him good popularity in Pittsburgh.
Later, he released his first mix tape “Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania” which made him quite famous in Pittsburgh and other parts of the country.
