Threads bears many similarities to X, both in appearance and usage. It was first released five months ago. It got off to a very fast start. It reached more than 100 million users in the first week. Unfortunately, it couldn’t sustain this success. Within a month, more than half of the users stopped logging in.
Since then, Meta has been adding new features to the apps under its umbrella in order to develop its community. In particular, it has been developing Twitter competitor Threads with new features. Also, the arrival of Threads in the European market will significantly increase the number of users.
Users can sign up for Threads using their Instagram profile for the full experience. Those who prefer to use Threads without a profile can browse content. They can also share content through link copying or platform sharing, search for accounts. However, they cannot interact with the content.
We don’t yet know why it took Meta so long to launch Threads in the European Union. However, some reports suggest that it may be linked to stricter regulatory rules in the bloc regarding data usage and market dominance by large firms.
