Arch Enemy was formed by guitarist Michael Amott following his departure from the influential death metal band Carcass. He was soon joined by his brother Christopher Amott, vocalist Johan Liiva, and drummer Daniel Erlandsson. This lineup recorded the band’s first three albums, including their highly acclaimed debut, “Black Earth”, which immediately established Arch Enemy as a formidable player in the melodic death metal scene.
