1- Fogerty was born “John Cameron Fogerty” in Berkeley, California in 1945

2- He took guitar lessons from Barry Olivier. One of his first bands was called The Blue Velvets.

3- Fogerty Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of CCR, in 1993 

4- John  received his first guitar at age 12

5- At  age 14, he formed a band called the Blue Velvets with two classmates, drummer Doug Clifford and bass player Stu Cook

6- In fifth and sixth grade, Fogerty was a lieutenant in the “traffic patrol,” overseen by Police Officer Ray Morris.

7- He Did not record from 1975 to 1984 because of legal problems with his former label, Fantasy Records.

8- His band Creedence Clearwater Revival broke up in 1973

9- Fogerty inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.

10- He Played with his brother Tom Fogerty in the Blue Velvets in the late 1950s; the group later became the Golliwogs, and eventually evolved into Creedence Clearwater Revival.
