A Bob Dylan album borrowed from a library in Ohio, US is returned with 48 years of delay.

Howard Simon from San Francisco wrote an apology letter when he sends the “Self Portrait” album released in 1970 to Heights Libraries.

Simon said he took the album when he has a student in University Heights, Ohio in 1973 and he found the album among his own Dylan albums: “As a newly retired individual, I am doing the things I have neglected over the years because of my work and family. According to my calculation, I send the book with 17 thousand 480 days delay and the album cover has slight wear because I brought it from University Heights to San Francisco.” I am sorry for the delay.”

Simon also sends 175 dollars for the first copy of the album since they might want to buy a new copy. And he added a copy he recorded.

The library announced that the sound quality of the album is good.

Whether the library knew the album was missing was not announced by the manager Sara Phillips said, “We no longer charge late fees. The important thing is to receive the borrowed album or book” and thanked Simon for sending the album back.
