Merlin Quotes: “Merlin” is a British fantasy-adventure television programme that aired on BBC One from 2008 to 2012. The show was created by Julian Jones, Jake Michie, Julian Murphy, and Johnny Capps. The series is based on the Arthurian legends of the legendary wizard Merlin and his relationship with Prince Arthur but differs significantly from traditional versions of the myth.
In the show, Merlin is portrayed as a young man who arrives at the kingdom of Camelot, where magic is banned by King Uther Pendragon, Arthur’s father. Despite the prohibition, Merlin secretly hones his magical abilities and serves as Prince Arthur’s servant. A great deal of the series focuses on Merlin’s struggle to protect Arthur, often from threats that Arthur is not aware of, as he is destined to become a great king.
