There are few musicians in history who have left as significant a mark as Bob Dylan. A poet, a singer, and a cultural icon, Dylan has been on the road for over six decades. This article takes you on a tour of fifty cities where he has performed, representing an impressive geographic scope of his musical journey.
Dylan’s roots can be traced to Duluth and Minneapolis in Minnesota, where he was born and raised. His move to New York City marked the start of a meteoric rise to stardom, and the city quickly became the canvas on which he painted his early musical masterpieces.
Throughout his career, Dylan crisscrossed the United States, gracing stages from Los Angeles to Nashville, Boston to Chicago. His performances extended far beyond the American borders, reaching out to cities across the globe. The city of London in the United Kingdom was a significant hub, a venue for his transformative style of folk-rock and powerful songwriting.
Dylan’s aptly named “Never Ending Tour,” which began in 1988, embodies his indefatigable spirit. With over 3000 shows to his credit, Dylan’s journey continues

Bob never played in South Africa and his presence in Moscow wasn’t really for a public concert, it wasn’t part of a tour
Dylan has never performed an actual music concert in Moscow. However he did read poetry at a Festival in July 1985. In June 2008 he did play a concert in St Petersburg which was Russia at the time.
Could you please supply details of when Dylan performed in Johannesburg South Africa ?
Many thanks
A very lacking list. Why even have one if it isn’t complete?
