MAY 16, 1977 Robert Plant had been arrested

MAY 16, 1977 – The London Evening Standard reported that Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant had been arrested at the Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta, Georgia for being drunk and pulling a knife. Since Plant was horseback riding at his home in Worcestershire, England at the time of the incident, the person arrested (a 19 year-old who was in a wheelchair at the time of the altercation) was an obvious fake, possibly impersonating Plant to wiggle out of the charges. The British paper ran an apology the following night.
