6.Voynich Manuscript
This 240-page book has a weird language that no one knows and with no records in the history.
The pages of the book are filled with astrologic drawings, depictions of extraordinary events, unsolved schemes and 100 plant drawings that do not resemble to any plants on earth.
Carbon 12 test showed that the manuscript dated between 1404 and 1438.
Although the best linguists, mathematicians and code breakers are trying to solve the language and the mystery of the book, no one has ever succeeded.
The author and the topic of this book are still unknown.
5. Piri Reis’ Map
This mysterious map drawn by famous Ottoman Sailor Piri Reis in 1513 and given as a gift to Suleiman the Magnificent attracted all the attention when it was found on the dusty shelves of Topkapı Palace in 1929. The reason for that is different from other maps, this map showed the west coast of Africa, east coast of South America, northeast corner of Canada, Greenland and South pole which was not discovered until 1818.
What is more interesting is that Piri Reis’ map is showing the continent’s coastline under the ice. The ice on the continent melted 6000 years ago before the map was drawn and this information was unknown in 1513.
Various unknown creatures on the map are still mysterious with what they want to tell us.
4. Stone Spheres in Costa Rica
More than 300 carved and ball-shaped stones were discovered in Costa Rica. While the diameter of some of these stores are just a few cms, others had the diameter of 2.5 meters and can weight up to 16 tones.
The weird thing about these stones is to be made out of granite, carved perfectly and require a single stone block which weight more than 30 tons.
But despite all these requirements, there was no sign of a quarry near the region where stone spheres were found.
3. Mysterious Shephard Monument
Shephard Monument built by count Thomas Anson in 1748 in Staffordshire has some mysterious and encrypted letters on the bottom. For the last 250 years, some of the best historians, linguists and scientists including Charles Dickens and Josiah Wedgwood tried to solve this encryption but no one succeeded.
Some sources claim that this encrypted text shows the location of the treasures and Holy Grail hidden by the Knights of the Temple.
2. Antikythera Mechanism
Antikythera Mechanism found in a ship wreck in the depths of the Aegean Sea was built by the Greek scientists around 150-100 BC. This weird machine with the gears of a modern watch has a complex structure.
The studies of Derek Solla Price, Mike Edmunds and many other professors from Cambridge University showed that this device is an astronomic compass that shows the position and motion of the Sun, Moon or the planets. The historical data suggests that these are forgotten technologies because these machines with automatic sequential or cyclical operations are not taught or transferred to new generations and have not been built until the 14th century.
The mystery Antikythera Mechanism exhibited in the National Archaeology Museum in Athens is not solved yet and some people believe that it might lead to great changes in the astronomy field if it is solved.
1. Aiud’s Aluminum Hammer
This is found 10-meters deep in the ground with mammoth remnants that went extinct 11.000 years ago. The research by Cluj-Napoca Archaeological Institute show that it was built at least 400 years ago and coated with aluminum.
The interesting thing is that aluminum which can be formed with chemical reactions at 1000°C was discovered in 1808.
