August 10, 1976 – Elton John performed the first date of seven sold out nights at Madison Square Garden

On March 25th, 2007, he appeared at MSG for his 60th appearance on his 60th birthday. The event was recorded and released on DVD as “Elton 60 – Live at Madison Square Garden.” On December 4, 2013, Elton returned to The Garden for his 64th performance (he debuted there on September 23, 1973) which also marked the most performances by any artist to play at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” On July 1, 2015, Billy Joel broke John’s record when he appeared for his 65th engagement at MSG.
