A new TV show produced by Mike Flanagan is there, after some of his popular horror productions. Midnight Mass will be released on Netflix as a mini-series and the series will be short but fearful for the viewers. The production attracts attention with both its plot and atmosphere and it is among the expected productions combined with the Flanagan effect. Since everyone is looking forward to this TV show, we have prepared a list of the things you need to know about Midnight Mass. Midnight Mass will be released on Netflix on 24 September and here are the things you need to know.

The TV show is about a community living isolated on a small island. But the paranormal activities on the island change the daily lives of the habitants. The arrival of a charismatic priest to the island will cause the religious perception of the society to change due to unexplained events. The price the group must pay is shared with the audience with various miracles.

Mike Flanagan who is famous when we talk about horror TV shows wrote and directed all episodes of Midnight Mass. He also produced The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game. The writer previously worked with Netflix and he will collaborate with Netflix for the Midnight Mass TV show. The writer has a huge fan base among horror movie lovers and he is one of the best horror auteurs of today.

The cast of the TV show includes some familiar names from Mike Flanagan’s previous productions. Since Ouija: Origin of Evil which was released in 2016, Henry Thomas who frequently works with Flanagan is one of these names. Also, Rahul Kohli, Alex Essoe and Kate Siegel from The Haunting of Bly Manor will be in the cast. Annabeth Gish, Robert Longstreet and Samantha Sloyan who were in The Haunting of Hill House TV show are among the other names. Flanagan will work with Hamish Linklater, Zach Gilford, Crystal Balint, Rahul Abburi, Matt Biedel and Michael Trucco for the first time.

On contrary to other productions, Midnight Mass is based on the imagination of the writer. The Haunting of Hill House was adapted from a Shirley Jackson novel in 1959. The Haunting of Bly Manor was adapted from Henry James’s The Turning of the Screw novel. But Midnight Mass isn’t an adaptation. This made the fans think that Midnight Mass is a sequel production. But a tweet by Mike Flanagan denied all rumours and confirmed that the TV show is an independent production.

Midnight Mass seems to be liked by the critics. The critic score on Rotten Tomatoes is 97%. The critic score on Metacritic is 76%. When the average scores for the horror genre are considered, it is clear that these scores are high.
