Orhan Pamuk: I am disappointed when Bob Dylan was awarded with the Nobel prize.

55 Years of Music in 55 Seconds - Bob Dylan

Nobel prize winner Orhan Pamuk said he was greatly disappointed because the musician Bob Dylan was awarded 2016 Nobel Literature prize.

According to news on Sputnik, Pamuk told the Russian press that Dylan is not famous for his literary skills and said:

“I am greatly disappointed because Dylan was awarded 2016 Nobel Literature Prize. I think this award should be given to a more famous name from the literature world. I really wanted that. There are numerous amazing American authors who deserve this award. Dylan is a celebrity; he is writing songs and poems. But Dylan is not famous for his literacy skills. I think a lot of authors are disappointed when the award was announced… I criticize this decision.”

“The Nobel prize changed my life”

Pamuk also said that the previous Nobel prize changed his life and said, “Yes, this award made me happy. I am thankful for the judge. This prize motivates you and this should continue.” Pamuk received 2006 Nobel Prize for Literature.
