Netflix’s popular detective series Enola Holmes returns with its third film. Production for Enola Holmes 3, which fans have been eagerly awaiting for a long time, has officially started in the UK. The new film reunites familiar faces such as Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter, Himesh Patel and Sharon Duncan-Brewster.
Philip Barantini sits in the director’s chair in this new film of the series. Barantini, who replaced Harry Bradbeer, who directed the first two films, had previously attracted attention with the acclaimed Adolescence on Netflix. The script is again entrusted to Jack Thorne. Based on Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries book series, the third instalment of the story will pit our young detective against her most complex case yet.
Even the film’s brief synopsis suggests that a bigger adventure is on the horizon this time: Personal and professional goals collide with the most complicated case Enola has ever faced. This time the story takes Enola to Malta. An adventure full of secrets, dangers and, of course, clever disguises awaits the viewer.
Enola Holmes 3 is being produced by Mary Parent, Ali Mendes and Alex Garcia on behalf of Legendary Entertainment. Millie Bobby Brown is also involved in the project as a producer. Bobby Brown, Jake Bongiovi and Isobel Richards are also executive producers through Brown’s production company PCMA Productions. Legendary’s Joshua Grode and Michael Dreyer are also involved in the production.
It is not surprising that Netflix continues to invest in this series. When Enola Holmes 2 was released in late 2022, it was a huge success on a global scale, reaching more than 68 million hours of viewership in 93 countries. This success also brought Millie Bobby Brown a huge profit; the young actress broke the record for the highest fee for an actress under the age of 20 with a prepayment of $ 10 million per film.
With the third film, the Enola Holmes universe deepens even more. Enola, the young sister of Sherlock Holmes, is expected to win new fans with her intelligence, courage and unique style. Although the film date has not yet been announced, adventurous viewers are already eagerly awaiting the new secret Enola will solve in Malta.
