Filming for HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series adaptation has finally begun. The new face of the series, 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin, appeared in front of the camera for the first time in Harry Potter costume. The shared photo quickly took fans back to the atmosphere of Hogwarts. J.K. Rowling’s immortal work will be presented to the audience this time in television format and with an expanded story.

Production on the HBO Original HARRY POTTER television series has begun at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden. The series will begin airing in 2027 in all markets where HBO and HBO Max are available, as well as in Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, where it will launch in the coming period.
The newly announced cast includes Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madame Rolanda Hooch and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
Newly announced production department heads: Adriano Goldman (Director of Photography), Cate Hall (Hair and Make-up Designer), Paul Herbert (Stunt Coordinator), Mark Holt (SFX Supervisor), Mara LePere-Schloop (Production Designer), Naomi Moore (Set Decorator), John Nolan (Creature Effects Design Supervisor), Alexis Wajsbrot (Visual Effects Supervisor), Dom Sidoli (Visual Effects Producer) and the previously announced Holly Waddington (Costume Designer).
The series is written and directed by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
