Sammy Davis Jr. made a guest appearance on CBS’ “All In The Family,” giving the show’s main character, white Archie Bunker, a big kiss, creating one of the most memorable episode of he show ever filmed.

This episode was the only one written by the comic genius Bill Dana.

While a 1968 episode of “Star Trek” titled “Plato’s Stepchildren”, which first aired on November 22, 1968, is often referred to as the first black/white kiss on American television, a December 1967 episode of “Movin’ with Nancy” featured a kiss between Nancy Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr., more than a year before the “Star Trek” episode aired.
