1- Barry Alan Crompton Gibb was born to Hugh, and his wife Barbara, on September 1, 1946
2- As a young boy, in 1955, he founded the rock-and-roll band, called ‘The Rattlesnakes’

6- Barry Gibb wrote “Grease” without his brothers. It was Frankie Valli’s only #1 single not co-written by Bob Gaudio or Bob Crewe. At the time Gibb approached Valli about recording the tune, Valli didn’t have a record deal. It was Valli’s last top 40 single.
7- Barry and Robin Gibb wrote “Emotion” for the film Saturday Night Fever. It wasn’t used in the pic; however, it was used in the Joan Collins film The Stud the following year.

15- At the age of 18 months, Barry Gibb was badly burned by hot tea and nearly died. His mum was told he had just 30 minutes left to live. However he pulled through in a critical condition, although it took two and a half months in the hospital to get better.
16- Gibb was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2002 New Year Honours for services to music and entertainment and a Knight Bachelor in the 2018 New Year Honours for services to music and charity.
17- He was awarded the Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2018 Queen’s New Years Honours List for his services to Music and to charity. He is a singer, songwriter and music producer in Buckinghamshire, England.
