Alison Brie is the latest addition to the live-action Masters of the Universe. The “Community” star will play Evil-Lyn in the production.

Alison Brie to Play Evil-Lyn, the Wicked Witch in “Masters of the Universe”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alison Brie will play Evil-Lyn, the evil witch known as Skeletor’s second-in-command.
In 1987’s Masters of the Universe, directed by Gary Goddard, Evil-Lyn was played by Meg Foster. Evil-Lyn is a key member of the forces of evil and an ancient threat to Eternia through her mastery of dark magic.
He-Man will be played by Nicholas Galitzine, star of The Idea of You, and the cast also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, captain of the royal guard and Prince Adam’s love interest.
Travis Knight, the director of Bumblebee, will direct the production and Chris Butler is writing the screenplay.
While details about the plot have yet to be shared, it seems likely that the movie will follow a similar formula to the typical Masters of the Universe stories based on the Mattel toy line in the 1980s.
Alison Brie is best remembered for her role as Annie in Community and as Ruth Wilder in GLOW. The actress recently appeared alongside John Cena in the action-comedy Freelance. She also starred in the mystery series Apples Never Fall and the Oscar-winning film Promising Young Woman. The role of Evil-Lyn will be Brie’s new challenge.
The actor will also reprise his iconic role in Community, which is expected to start shooting in the near future.
Masters of the Universe will be released on June 5, 2026.
