Speedy Gonzales is a fictional character in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated cartoons. He is an animated anthropomorphic mouse who is known for his incredible speed and is often depicted as a heroic figure, defending his fellow mice from various adversaries, primarily cats.
Speedy Gonzales made his debut in the 1953 cartoon short titled “Cat-Tails for Two,” directed by Friz Freleng. He quickly became one of the most recognizable and beloved characters in the Looney Tunes universe.
