2030 FIFA World Cup hosts announced

The 2030 World Cup is set to be a first in history. FIFA 2030 will be the first World Cup to be held on different continents.

According to the written statement made by FIFA, the FIFA Council announced that there was a single application by 3 countries to host the 2030 World Cup.

The statement said the joint proposal by Morocco, Portugal and Spain was unanimously approved.

It was stated that the FIFA Congress will make a decision on the single and joint bid for the organization within the next year.

“Taking into account the historical context of the first FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Council unanimously agreed to host a unique centenary celebration ceremony in 2030 in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, where the first FIFA World Cup was held,” the statement said.

On the other hand, it was stated that one match will be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay due to the 100th anniversary of the tournament. In addition, the 6 countries that will host the organization will directly participate in the World Cup without playing qualifying matches
