Hulu’s recent release Hit Monkey takes the animation style to a new level. This Marvel animated series is about a Japanese snow monkey who experienced wrong things. The ghost of an American assassin is guiding the snow monkey throughout the series. The animated series is created by Josh Gordon and Will Speck and released on 17 November 2021. The Hit Monkey animated series is adapted from the Marvel comic book. Of course, we are unable to see all the details in the comic book. But there are still enough details that show us this strange character of the universe.
1. New Look to Marvel Universe
When it comes to Marvel Universe, we expect to see superheroes, saving the world and goodness in people. But Hit Monkey takes the universe to a new level. There is revenge, there is action and there is an amazing plot. The audience will see one of the strangest characters in the Marvel Universe.
2. Monkey Speaks Monkey
One of the most interesting parts of Hit Monkey is that the monkey speaks monkey. So, there are lots of sounds and almost no talking. Bryce – the ghost of the American assassin – can understand the monkey language. Bryce interprets what the monkey tells and the audience can understand the dialogue between the monkey and Bryce. But this interpretation is a bit different from the dialogue between Han Solo and Chewbacca.
3. Monkey Is from Japan
Monkey who is the main character of this animated series came from the mountainous area of Japan. The monkey used to live with other monkeys and he had a peaceful life. But his peaceful life changed with the arrival of a nameless assassin who was wounded. His kin helped the wounded assassin but the assassin only brought doom to them. The Monkey then found himself on a journey to take revenge.
4. Monkey Uses Different Weapons
Monkey uses different weapons for different situations. We can see the sword and the handgun. Actually, the weapons are selected for the occasion. So, the Monkey fights with a different weapon for different enemies. In the animation series, the team tried to show these differences.
5. Where Did Monkey Learn to Fight?
Of course, none of the monkeys knows how to fight. In Hit Monkey, we learn that the Monkey learned to fight from assassins who were beating a snowman. The Monkey secretly watched the movements of these assassins and perfected the moves in his own style. This detail is not provided in the animated series. But we can see that in the comic book.
6. Hit Monkey Hates Deadpool
We all know that Marvel Universe is connected. Any character can suddenly appear in an animated series, movies or comic books. So, there is nothing surprising about the acquaintance between the Monkey and Deadpool. Their paths probably took the same turn somewhere in the past. But there is one thing for sure. Monkey really hates Deadpool. Although we do not see this hate in the TV show, this hate is sound and clear in the comic book.
