Church scandal in the US Pastor fired for allowing Sabrina Carpenter to film music video

An investigation following the controversial music video of famous singer Sabrina Carpenter revealed a pastor’s corruption of $1.9 million in funds. While the church leader was dismissed, the incident became a hot topic on social media.

Jamie Gigantiello, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Brooklyn, New York, has been removed from his position amid allegations of $1.9 million in corruption and other administrative irregularities.

OBSCENE CONTENT REACTIONS

World-renowned singer Sabrina Carpenter’s “Feather” video, filmed in a church, has sparked controversy. Although the video was filmed with the permission of the church, it caused reactions due to its “obscene” content. However, the real problem emerged in the investigation following the incident.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn found that Gigantiello transferred $1.9 million in church funds without authorization to accounts linked to Frank Carone, an advisor to former New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The statement said the fund transfers were in serious violation of diocesan policies.

It was also stated that Gigantiello used the church credit card for personal expenses, and that some of the funds were repaid with favorable interest rates, but not fully documented.

“We are taking the necessary steps to maintain public trust and rebuild the Church’s reputation,” the Church said in a statement.

Gigantiello was stripped of all administrative duties and replaced by Bishop Witold Mroziewski.

SINGER’S REFERENCE

Following the scandal, Sabrina Carpenter addressed the issue at her Madison Square Garden concert. “Shit, shall we talk about how I got the mayor indicted?” Carpenter said.
