September 6, 1970 – Jimi Hendrix gave his final full concert

SEPTEMBER 6, 1970 – Jimi Hendrix gave his final full concert as the second incarnation of the Experience took the stage at the Open Air Love and Peace Festival in Fehmarn, Germany. Backed by drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, Hendrix was originally scheduled to appear on the previous day of the festival. Heavy rain storms pushed the date back one night. But the Experience, as heard on 2005′s “The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live at the Isle of Fehmarn,” arrived as a well-oiled machine, having just completed a run of six concerts in six days that included a headlining slot at both the Isle of Wight on Aug. 30th and Berlin on Sept. 4th.

SETLIST:
1) Killing Floor
2) Spanish Castle Magic
3) All Along the Watchtower
4) Hey Joe
5) Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)
6) Message to Love
7) Foxy Lady
8) Red House
9) Ezy Ryder
10) Freedom
11) Room Full of Mirrors
