SEPTEMBER 13, 2005 – The boyhood home where Jimi Hendrix (November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970) grew up in Seattle was saved from demolition after a new location was agreed upon at the last minute. The house was taken from Seattle to a mobile home park in Renton, Washington, opposite the cemetery where the guitarist was buried in 1970.
