7 Binge-Worthy TV Series to Watch on Netflix

Binge-watching is a term Generation Z (Gen Z) came up with that means to watch a TV show in one sitting. Most often, it is done when there’s this extremely great show that the viewer can’t get enough of, hence, having them watch it continuously. As a TV show freak, I often find myself binge-watching a lot of series on various streaming platforms. Whether I’m eating, doing my thing in the bathroom, or cooking, you’ll often see me using my phone or my tablet to watch a TV show.

Since there are a lot of streaming platforms out there, like Disney Plus, Sling TV, HBO Max, and others, I figured, why not share my top 7 favorite Netflix TV series? I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy these series as much as I did.

  1. The 100

The 100 is a post-apocalyptic TV series about a group of people who are living in space because the Earth has suddenly become inhabitable. The place they call home is called The Ark and the Ark is already running low on supplies, so they had to send 100 delinquent teenagers to Earth to determine if it is still inhabitable. To their surprise, it is habitable, but they’re not alone.

  1. House MD

House MD is one of the newest shows added on Netflix. It’s about Dr. Gregory House, a skilled diagnostician who can solve a lot of medical mysteries based on the patient’s symptoms. He leads a diagnostic team in a specialized hospital where patients visit when other hospitals can’t diagnose their illnesses. With his attitude, he often clashes with other doctors because of his questionable yet possible diagnoses.

  1. Berlin

If you want a Spanish TV show, Berlin is the newest addition to the lineup. It’s a prequel to the popular Money Heist where it talks about a specific character nicknamed Berlin. The story is set years before the first heist in La Casa de Papel was executed, and it revolves around Andres, or popularly known as Berlin, and his high-stake heists. If you loved Berlin in La Casa de Papel, you will surely enjoy this show.

  1. The Queen’s Gambit

I’m not a chess fan so I’m not familiar with how the game works. But even so, I massively enjoyed this limited series. The story is about a chess prodigy named Beth Harmon to become an elite chess player. However, her journey was far from easy. Even though she was a great chess player, she had personal problems, especially with issues related to drugs and alcohol.

If you want to know how good this series is, I actually thought (more like hoped) that it was a true story because the story was so great. It’s based on a novel, so that probably helped the producer and director to create this amazing masterpiece.

  1. Snowpiercer

If you like TV shows that talk about the harsh truth of social classes in the world we live in, this series is a good pick for you. This series is about the world’s longest, most advanced train that’s traveling around the world non-stop because that’s the only way to survive the Earth’s frozen-cold temperature.

Unfortunately, inside these trains are people in different social classes. The first-class people are living their best lives with gourmet food, proper ventilation, and other amenities of a hotel. On the other hand, the lowest classes are cramped at the back part of the train where they only receive limited rations of food – until a revolution was made. Honestly, this series would be better if it’s available on other streaming platforms like Hulu or Dish TV because it’s really that good.

  1. The Stranger

The Stranger is probably one of Harlan Coben’s best out there. The trailer is what hooked me to watch this show, but I wasn’t expecting that I’d be so entertained throughout the series. It can be a bit creepy or scary at times, but that’s what made the story much more interesting.

The story itself is about a woman who approached a man saying her wife had faked her pregnancy… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. What starts as a seemingly isolated lie turned into a web of deceit that stretches far beyond the couple’s seemingly perfect life.

  1. Orange Is the New Black

Since I watched Prison Break, I’ve come to love prison TV shows. Orange Is the New Black is one of my favorites because instead of an action-packed prison series, this show is more about the prisoners and their stories. The story will revolve around Piper Chapman at first, a privileged woman who was sentenced to years in prison because of her past crimes.

However, as the story moves, you will also learn a lot about other characters and why they ended up in prison. It’s also an LGBTQ+-friendly series, so I really recommend it.

The Bottom Line

There are many binge-worthy TV series on Netflix, and I’m proud to say that I’ve already watched a lot of them. If you’re new to binging, I really recommend these seven shows because you’ll literally see yourself binging without even trying – they’re that good. So have fun! I hope you love these series as much as I did.
