Bob Dylan – Treasure Of Love (1987, Possible Down in the Groove Outtake)

Apparently recorded at the New York City home of Ted Perlman and Peggi Blu in early March 1987, in the midst of the Down in the Groove sessions, and just a few days before Dylan’s appearance at the Gershwin tribute concert in Brooklyn

Here is what Perlman remembers about the recording session:

“Bob stopped by our house many moons ago and we hung for a few days recording a few songs together. I’ve done two albums with Bob previous to this but this but this was my favorite time working with him. I didn’t really have much recording equipment at the time, and I ended up playing the drums to Bob’s guitar, but in retrospect there’s an honesty and joy that comes thru on this record. Kudos to Peggi Blue for her Excellent background vocals.“

LYRICS

A treasure of love, is fine
Its waiting for you, if your hear,ar,art isn’t blind
A treasure of love, is not very far
It glows like fire and it shi-i-ines, like a star
Its stronger than diamonds and worth more than gold
This is a treasure that never grows old
The treasure of love is found on no chart
To find where it is just look in your heart
Its stronger than diamonds and worth more than gold
This is a treasure that never grows old
The treasure of love is found on no chart
To find where it is just lo-a-ook in your heart
